Magnificent sand and shingle beach. 10 minutes walk away from the house.

If you're feeling hardy go for a quick dip in the Irish Sea. Fresh and invigorating.

Secluded sandy beach at the northern tip of Killiney Beach. Accessed via a long set of stairs and paths from Vico Road or alternatively from Killiney Beach at low tide. Druid Lodge highly recommends a stroll to Whiterock following your breakfast - there are few finer places on Ireland's east coast to enjoy the sunrise.

The whole of Killiney Hill is a public park. Views from the obelisk at the top of the Hill are unparalleled. The park is full of fine walkways taking in spectacular scenery and seaviews.

The northern section of Killiney Park backs onto Dalkey Quarry, a popular rock climbing venue for Irish teams in training for attempts on Mt. Everest (I'm not joking!). The rock taken from the quarry was used to build Dun Laoghaire harbour, visible from the quarry.

A one hour walk from Druid Lodge meandering up Killiney Hill to Killiney Village and then veering right through the Gothic castellated archway onto Vico road will take you along a coastal route overlooking Killiney Bay and Dalkey Island from an impressive elevation. The road winds into Dalkey passing Sorrento Terrace and Dalkey Island. Stop off at Sorrento Park opposite Sorrento Terrace to take in the views. Finish off your walk with a quiet pint in Finnegan's or a hearty meal in PD's Woodhouse.
